Khadija Al Hanafi

The Tunisian music producer impacted the electronic music scene in 2020 with her debut album “Slime Patrol” on Fada Records. Racking up over 300K streams on streaming platforms and sparking interest from promoters, labels and fans worldwide.
After disappearing for 3 years, she returned on January 1st 2024 with her follow up “Slime Patrol 2” which was highly received by medias online and fans across the world. Earning her a rating of 7.5 and a review on Pitchfork.
Pitchfork writer Jude Noel describes her as: “One of footwork’s freshest, most unpredictable new voices. Whether she’s chopping it up over traditional 160-BPM drum patterns or bending club music’s conventions to her own will, she flips unexpected sounds and obscure samples into music that sounds like nothing else out there.”
Receiving support from notable DJs and musicians alike such as Pedro Winter, Crystalmess, Teklife producer DJ Earl, or Daedelus… She also sparks interest amongst record labels like Ninja Tune, Hyperdub, Lex Records and more…
Born and raised in Hammam-Lif (حمام الأنف); she is now based in Tunis, the capital and largest city of Tunisia.
Khadija interprets and blends various Electronic Music styles together like Footwork, Jersey Club, Drum&Bass, and much more…
Steering away from defined genres, she pushes deep into a sound that is completely her own. Her tracks have been described as “soft psychedelic ” and “hard hitting club heaters” adequate for headphone listens as much as dance floor battles.
Vinyl Me Please partnered with Khadija Al Hanafi to press her “Slime Patrol” series on exclusive colored vinyl.
Meet the latest addition to the VMP Rising family, Tunisian producer Khadija Al Hanafi.
Her first two projects in the Slime Patrol series showcase her unique vision in blending inspirations from Chicago footwork with jazz/soul/R&B, while capturing an unpredictable energy and mixing it with lo-fi elements and juke fundamentals.
In Slime Patrol, Khadija flexes her holistic production methods, seamlessly fusing disparate styles. For its sequel, Al-Hanafi looks towards genres like Jersey club, jungle, and ghettotech as influences while retaining the muffled intimacy of her past work.
