Born and raised in Sacramento,California, DJ Mark West stepped behind
the turntables for the first time at 12 years old. Inspired by artists like the Invisibl Skratch Piklz, A-trak, Jazzy Jeff and DJ Craze, Mark West developed a diverse style, working with everything on the spectrum from Hip-hop and R&B, House to various remixes and rare grooves creating a unique style. He continued to hone his craft through his teenage years, working his way up from house parties to the city’s biggest clubs and events.His passion for music took him to Los Angeles in 2012, where he began working with Grammy Award Winning Producers “The Stereotypes”, who’ve produced tracks like , “Thats What I Like“, and “Finesse “ by Bruno Mars and many others.
Elevating his profile in LA, Mark West has opened up for Artists such as Miguel, Smoke DZA, Silento, Naughty By Nature, Ginuwine, Mario and more, Eventually touring the United States as the official DJ for Travis Garland’s Fashionably Late Tour in 2014. Later on Mark West’s journey led across the Pacific to Japan in 2015, where he currently resides in Tokyo, Japan as King Miyachi’s official DJ and holds multiple residencies such as Club Harlem in Shibuya and his own curated event “West & Friends”, while continuing to play at some of the biggest night clubs and events throughout Asia.
