Loota first gained international recognition with the viral hit “It G Ma” alongside KOHH and others, and confirmed his global projection by participating in the production of Frank Ocean’s Blonde. His notable releases include KUUGA with Tohji and Brodinski, Helheim with Brodinski and Modulaw, and Ephemeral with Canadian band Gliiico, all of which highlight his distinctive mix of electronic, hip-hop, and experimental sounds. He has also collaborated with European producers like SebastiAn, Surkin, and Sam Tiba, and worked with Japanese local artists like Dove and JUMADIBA, China’s CHARITY SsB, and Korea’s 106 Mido. These collaborations have further established him as an artist who bridges different musical scenes.
Loota continues to evolve creatively, remixing Chiba Yuki’s “Team Tomodachi” and releasing the single Avalanche, a collaboration with Mechatok (signed to XL Recordings’ Young) and South Korean artist MOSS OMEN*. His work is often accompanied by striking visuals, with contributions from artists like Babybrush and Yulya Shadrinsky, and creative direction by Kiri. Through his cross-cultural collaborations and innovative approach, Loota consistently expands his artistic vision and brings new perspectives to music from Japan to the world.
