Boiler Roomへの出演、複数のレジデンシー、そして国際的なラジオ番組での豊富な経験を有するKATRINAは、過去10年間にわたり台北のアンダーグラウンド・シーンにおいて確固たる名を築いてきた人物である。頻繁にコラボレーションを求められる存在であり、その仲間にはFINALのPure Gや、新たに設立された台北のToha Radioが名を連ねている。
リスニングバー Double Check の音楽プログラマーとしての彼女の役割においては、実験的な音楽に新たな居場所を与えてきた——いや、むしろ「本当にイカしたDJたちが集まる友人宅のリビングルーム」とでも言うべき空間を作り出してきたのである。クラブという枠にとらわれず、地域コミュニティが電子音楽を聴くことのできる貴重な場となっている。
一年あれば多くのことが変わり得る。事実、彼女のパーカッシブなスタイルはこの10年以上の間に数多のジャンルを縦横に横断してきた。しかし、ひとつだけ変わらないことがある。それは、KATRINAのセットを聴くとき、彼女のアティチュードが明確に響き渡るということである。

With a Boiler Room set, multiple residencies, and an impressive international radio resume to her name, KATRINA has spent the last decade making a name for herself in Taipei’s underground scene. A frequently sought-after collaborator, her teammates include FINAL’s Pure G and Taipei’s newly minted Toha Radio. In her role as the music programmer for the listening bar Double Check, she’s given experimental music a new home, or perhaps more accurately, the living room of your friends who happen to be really sick DJs – an opportunity for the local community to listen to electronic music outside of the usual club setting.
A lot can change in a year, and her percussive style has definitely snaked its way through a long list of genres over the past 10+ years, but one thing stays the same: when you’re listening to a KATRINA set, you’ll hear her attitude crystal clear!
