Facta is the primary alias of Oscar Henson – London-based musician, producer and DJ, and co-founder of the celebrated electronic record label, Wisdom Teeth.
His approach as a musician and A&R is to join the dots between the upfront, club-ready sounds that he grew up on – garage, house, dubstep, grime, techno – and broader influences drawn from ambient, jazz, dub, pop, experimental electronics and beyond. As such his music typically marries the groove, functionality and physicality of dance music with more challenging, esoteric ideas drawn from further afield, often contrasting bright, colourful melodic elements with layers of manipulated noise and bleeping electronics.
He first made his name releasing on a number of the most respected labels in his field, including Tempa, Livity Sound, Idle Hands and Incienso. In 2014 he founded his own label, Wisdom Teeth, alongside close friend and collaborator K-LONE (Josiah Gladwell). Over more than a decade the label has grown to become one of the best-loved imprints of its generation, releasing contemporary club music, experimental, ambient and downtempo from a diverse, global crew of artists including Salamanda, Tristan Arp, Yushh, Nick León, Lurka, Batu, Parris, Piezo, Steevio and more. Wisdom Teeth’s releases reliably rank in coveted end of year lists, and in 2023 the imprint was nominated in the ‘Best Label’ category at the DJ Mag Awards. Today, Facta releases almost exclusively on Wisdom Teeth, whilst also moonlighting on remix duties for labels like Young (Koreless), dh2 (George Daniel) and Houndstooth (Hodge).
In 2021 he took a break from the club with the release of his debut LP, ‘Blush’ – an innovative record that moved a good few steps beyond his prior work: loosely rooted in UK dance music but taking added influence from ambient, modern classical, dreampop, Balearic and folk music. In 2025 he followed up with his sophomore LP, ‘GULP’ – a zippy, hi-def mini-album that received broad global acclaim, cementing his reputation as one of the scene’s most distinct voices: “Over a decade into owning his Wisdom Teeth label, Facta has learned what makes a record stand out not just among an artist’s catalog, but the genre in which it rests.” (Pitchfork)
Facta has performed extensively across the world including tours of North America, Asia and Australia/New Zealand. He has broadcast live on Boiler Room and Mixmag Lab, and appeared on Radio 1, 6 Music, NTS and Rinse FM. He has performed at many of Europe’s leading festivals including Atonal, Love International, GALA, Bilbao BBK, We Out Here, Freerotation and Glastonbury. His work and the work of his label are featured regularly in Pitchfork, Mixmag, Resident Advisor, The Quietus, Crack Magazine, DJ Mag and beyond.
