1LDKは、Yiqing (北京出身)とGoos (アムステルダム出身) によるユニット。2019年にアムステルダムのクラブの外で出会った後、二人は連絡を取り合いながら、それぞれの生活を続けていた。Yiqingは東京でDJ活動やイベントのプロモーション、さまざまな媒体への執筆を行っていましたが、常により個人的で、創造的に充実感のある何かに取り組みたいという思いを抱いていた。Goosはアムステルダムに住みながら、自身のソロプロジェクト Yoong の楽曲制作やプロデュース、イベントのブッキングを行っていた。ある日、彼は東京へ移り住み、友人のYiqingにバンドを結成しようとメッセージを送った。
やがて二人はマイクを購入し、のちに彼らのファーストシングルとなる「SpringDream」を書き上げたが、6ヶ月間誰にも聴かせなかった。東京での生活やアウトサイダーとしての背景、そしてFaye Wong、Jay Chou、Kahimi Karie、Pizzicato Five,のスタイルからインスピレーションを得た1LDKの音楽は、映画やY2Kポップミュージックに育まれたニューロストジェネレーションに響く。彼らは、1LDKのビッグシティサウンドや、コスモポリタンと2000年代のインディー・シーンを融合させたパロディ的な要素に共感するのだ。2025年に「SpringDream」をリリースしたのを機に、彼らはライブデビューを果たし、1LDKが誕生した。「その時から、本格的なプロジェクトになったんだ」とGoosは語る。
リビング、ダイニング、キッチンが一体となった1ベッドルームのアパートにちなんで名付けられた1LDKは、日本特有の用語であり、彼らの日常生活を反映したもの、あるいはもっと華やかなバージョンであると、Yiqingは説明する。彼らの初ライブは海外でも注目を集め、バルセロナでのデビューにつながり、Ecco2KとMechatokのNaturalMindシリーズの一環として、Mechatokの前座を務めた。また、The FaderやSabukaruといったメディアからも支持を受け、ファッション界の寵児であるFey Fey Worldwideの最近のNYFWショー向けにオリジナル楽曲を提供した。EPリリースイベントでは、1LDKは東京・丸の内の屋上で、ファン、友人、家族を前にアットホームなセットを披露した。MechatokやThe Twinsの前座を務めた後、1LDKは米国デビューを果たし、ニューヨークのNight Club 101 (7月17日) とロサンゼルスのPermanent Records Roadhouse (7月23日) での両公演をソールドアウトさせた。

1LDK is Yiqing (b.Beijing) & Goos (b.Amsterdam). After meeting in 2019 outside a club in Amsterdam, they stayed in touch and continued their paralle llives. Yiqing had been DJing in Tokyo, promoting events, and writing for different publications but always feeling the need to work on something more personal and creatively fulfilling. Goos had been living in Amsterdam, making music and producing for his solo project Yoong, and booking events. Oneday, he moved to Tokyo and texted his friend Yiqing about starting a band.
Eventually they bought a microphone and wrote what would become their first single “SpringDream” and didn’t show it to anyone for six months. Inspired by their different lived experiences and “outsider” backgrounds living in Tokyo and the stylings of Faye Wong, Jay Chou, Kahimi Karie, and Pizzicato Five, 1LDK’s music speaks to a new lost generation raised on cinema and Y2K pop music who can relate to their “bigcity” sound and pastiche of th ecosmopolitan and 2000s indie era. Up on releasing “SpringDream” in 2025, they made their live debut and 1LDK was born. “That’s when it became a serious project ”says Goos.
Named after a 1 bedroom apartment with Living, Dining, and Kitchen areas, “1LDK” is a distinctly Japanese term and are flection of their daily lives or “maybe a more glamorous version” Yiqing clarifies. Their first performance would spark interest abroad and lead to their Barcelona debut opening for Ecco2K and Mechatok as part of the latter’s “NaturalMind” series.They would also receive support from media outlets like The Fader and Sabukaru and compose an original score for fashion darling Fey Fey Worldwide’s recent NYFW show. For their EP release event, 1LDK performed an intimate set on a rooftop in Marunouchi, Tokyo for fans, friends, and family. After opening for Mechatok (again) and The Twins, 1LDK made their US debut, selling out both shows in New York City at Night Club 101 (July17) and Los Angeles at Permanent Records Roadhouse (July23).
